A Contracts & Cost Control Engineer is required to work on a large Energy Transition project that is based in North Wales.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience across both contracts and cost control aswell as a background within Quantity Surveying
You will support the Work Package Manager in the day to day management of assigned contracts, ensuring effective cost control, contractual compliance, accurate forecasting and risk mitigation throughout the project lifecycle. Key responsibilities include verifying contractor proforma invoices, validating the accuracy of unit rates and quantities, and reviewing Variation Orders to ensure alignment with contract terms, supporting documentation and approved benchmarks. The role ensures that all costs, changes, and deliverables are consistent with the contract, company policies and project objectiv
es.

• Support the Work Package Manager in applying EPC contract terms and ensuring contractor compliance with the con
tract.• As the Contract & Cost Control Engineer, you will lead the verification and approval of contractor pro‑forma invoices, ensuring that claimed milestones are correct, reported quantities are confirmed by the Package Team, unit rates are accurate, and all claims comply with contractual require
ments.• Coordinate with the Project Control Depar
tment.• As the Contract & Cost Control Engineer, you will review contractor timesheets, procurement documents, equipment logs, and cost re
ports.• Verify, with support from the engineering and construction teams, the accuracy of supporting documents (measurement sheets, site reports, redlines) and identify any non‑reimbursable or non‑compliant
items.• Review Variation Orders (VOs) to ensure all prices align with contract terms, supporting documentation, and approved bench
marks.• As the Contract & Cost Control Engineer, you will support cost and cash‑flow forecasting; identify unauthorised or unsupported costs and propose corrective ac
tions.• Maintain logs for invoices, costs, and variations; prepare Work/Service Orders and SAP uploads as req
uired.• As the Contract & Cost Control Engineer, you will prepare or review company contractual correspondence and support Change Management activ
ities.
Skills and experience re
quired:
• Degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a relat
ed field• Extensive experience in cost control and contract engineering on EPC projects in the executio
n phase.• Strong experience with unit‑rate reimbursable contracts or BoQ‑based measurement
systems.• Demonstrated reporting exp
erience.• As the Contract & Cost Control Engineer, you will have proficiency in quantity measurement, BoQ interpretation, and unit‑rate a
nalysis.• Solid understanding of EPC contract structures and change‑control mec
hanisms.• Experience using cost‑control tools (SAP, Prism, EcoSys) and advance
d Excel.• Strong understanding of engineering drawings and construction
methods.• Ability to write reports and documentation that conform to prescribed styles and
formats.• Proficient computer skills, including email, record‑keeping, database use, word processing, and g
raphics.• Ability to read, analyse, and interpret engineering, scientific, technical, financial, and legal do
cuments.• Strong stakeholder engagement, with sound interpersonal skills and awareness of appropriate ethics and protocol across fu

equired.• Confident in managing enquiries or complaints and able to prioritise effe
