About the Role
Boeing Defence UK is looking for a Network Administrator to support various technical requirements within a busy IT Infrastructure team. This role will involve contributing to the delivery of projects and sustainment within a demanding environment supporting Boeing Defence UK operations. The role, whilst hybrid, will expect you to work from many of our sites – two to three days per week. You will be involved in project activities, hardware and software installation, daily support, configuration and disposition of servers and networks. As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for delivering outcomes for requests that present themselves to the network team. Equally comfortable, confident and professional whether at the end of a phone call or hands‑on at a desk within a number of sites we support, you will be the person who takes pride in providing first‑rate service and genuinely enjoys solving IT issues for colleagues at all levels. Responsibilities
* Continuously look for improvements to ensure services are aligned to industry best practice and Boeing enterprise best practices.
* Respond to events, requests and incidents logged in management systems.
* Perform analysis of log files, systems, and network traffic.
* Work to well‑defined SLAs & KPIs.
* Contribute to daily task requests within the team.
* Identify and raise technical challenges and limitations within the networking estate.
* Provide network advice and support to various projects and programmes.
* Represent Networks and Infrastructure at meetings where necessary.
* Maintain an understanding of Cisco CCNA competencies.
* Work with F5 Load Balancers.
* Use SolarWinds or PRTG for monitoring.
* Know various IP protocols (e.g., SNMP, SMTP, DNS, DHCP, NTP, HTTP).
* Manage system logs and network/server monitoring.
* Work with VMware.
* Manage Linux operating systems.
* Manage Windows Server technology.
* Configure user access networks (wired/wireless Cisco Catalyst switches).
* Manage data‑centre switches (Cisco Nexus).
* Use routing protocols (OSPF, BGP).
* Configure firewalls (Juniper, Palo Alto).
* Implement VPN technologies.
* Manage Infoblox DNS/DHCP.
Security Clearance
