Zero Trust Solution Architect / Zscaler Engineer

We’re looking for a highly skilled Zero Trust Solution Architect / Engineer with proven expertise in Zscaler ZIA and ZPA to join our client on an exciting 3–6 month contract (with potential extension). This is a fantastic opportunity to make a global impact by driving best practices, automation, and optimisation across a large-scale, enterprise-wide Zscaler environment.
The Role
As the lead Zscaler SME, you’ll play a pivotal role in strengthening and optimising our global Zero Trust security posture. You’ll assess, redesign, and implement improvements to Zscaler ZIA/ZPA deployments, ensuring scalability, compliance (including PCI/CDE), and operational excellence.
You’ll partner with cross-functional stakeholders – SecOps, CISO & EUC teams to deliver practical solutions that enhance security, performance, and automation across the organisation.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Lead Zscaler expertise for a major migration and optimisation project
* Assess & improve ZIA and ZPA configurations, policies, and traffic flows
* Automate ZPA App Connector deployment, configuration, and monitoring
* Design and implement scalable Zero Trust solutions aligned with best practices
* Collaborate with security and infrastructure teams to meet compliance requirements
* Deliver clear documentation, runbooks, and knowledge transfer sessions
* Report weekly to senior leadership on progress, risks, and opportunities
Key Deliverables
* Full assessment of current Zscaler ZIA/ZPA deployment
* Optimisation and automation plans with phased improvements
* Runbooks, test plans, and rollback strategies
* UAT, change management, and successful go-live support
* Training and handover to internal teams
What We’re Looking For
* Strong background in Zscaler ZIA and ZPA (hands-on engineering + architecture)
* Proven experience in Zero Trust security design and implementation
* Ability to automate deployments and streamline operational processes
* Confident communicator with experience managing senior stakeholders
* Knowledge of compliance frameworks (e.g., PCI/CDE) a strong plus
