Director, GDCL oUS (UK/IE)
The Director, GDCL oUS (UK/IE) provides strategic leadership for Global Distribution & Customer Logistics (GDCL) operations supporting the business. This role is accountable for end-to-end logistics performance, trade compliance, and cross-border coordination to ensure reliable supply, regulatory adherence, and an exceptional customer experience. The position has broad visibility and impact, partnering across regions and functions to drive scalable, compliant, and cost-effective GDCL operations.
Responsibilities
* Set the strategy and operating model for GDCL operations supporting the OUS business
* Provide leadership and governance for cross-border logistics, distribution, and trade execution
* Ensure compliance with global trade regulations, customs requirements, and internal control standards
* Partner with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Transportation, Customer Service, and Commercial teams to align priorities and execution
* Monitor and improve service, cost, quality, and compliance performance through defined KPIs and reporting
* Lead continuous‑improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, resilience, and customer experience
* Develop, mentor, and lead high‑performing teams across GDCL and trade functions
* Manage risk, escalation, and issue resolution related to flows and trade operations
* Represent GDCL oUS interests in global forums and with key internal and external stakeholders
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations, or a related field (required)
* Preferred: Master’s degree (MBA or equivalent)
* 10‑12 years of progressive experience in global logistics, GDCL, trade operations, or supply chain leadership roles
* Proven experience leading complex, cross‑border and multi‑site operations
* Deep knowledge of international trade compliance, customs, and regulatory requirements
* Strong leadership capability with experience managing managers and senior professionals
* Demonstrated ability to develop strategy and translate it into executable operating models
* Experience in medical devices, healthcare, or other regulated industries (preferred)
* Experience supporting EMEA distribution from international locations (preferred)
* Familiarity with manufacturing models and global supply networks (preferred)
* Experience leading transformation or continuous‑improvement initiatives (preferred)
* Knowledge of transportation management, ERP, or global trade systems (preferred)
* Strong executive communication and stakeholder‑management skills (preferred)
* Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills (preferred)
* Fluency in English required; additional European languages preferred
* Travel up to 20‑25%, including international travel
* Certifications in trade compliance, supply chain, or logistics preferred
