Wentworth Woodhouse Preservation Trust is a charity based in Rotherham which was established to secure the future of Wentworth Woodhouse. It is arguably the most challenging and exciting regeneration project of our generation. Wentworth Woodhouse Preservation Trust is committed to delivering high quality, creative and relevant visitor experiences and an empowered and connected workforce. We serve the following purposes:
* To preserve the house and grounds on a long term sustainable basis with extensive public opening;
* To find sustainable and sympathetic uses for those parts of the property not open to the public;
* To raise funds both for acquisition and repairs and other essential works.
Job Summary
As Finance Officer, you will support the provision of effective day to day management of the finance function across the organisation, along with assisting with implementing and then overseeing our stock management system. You will work alongside the Head of Finance and the rest of the finance team to complete a variety of finance tasks including, but not limited to, income reconciliations, invoice processing, stock management and being the first point of contact for finance queries.
This role would suit someone who has experience of working in a busy finance function and has the ability to work on their own and deliver competing priorities to deadlines.
The role is predominantly office based in a historic building which is undergoing restoration.
Key Responsibilities (this is not an exhaustive list)
· Assistance with implementation of a new stock management system
· Oversight of the new stock management system to ensure accurate records of retail and catering stock held on-site
· Assistance with managing the finance email account
· Preparation of month end journals for management accounts
· Reconciliation of income from our EPOS and online payment systems to the bank
· Assistance with collating information for SLT and Board of Trustee meetings
· Ad hoc data analysis as required by the SLT and Board of Trustees
· Managing the filing, storing, archiving and security of documents meeting all data protection requirements and responsibilities
· Focal point of contact for any finance queries
· Maintenance of fixed asset registers including depreciation
· Assistance with year end processes and responding to auditor queries
· Preparation of gift aid claims
· Deputising for Head of Finance at staff meetings as required
· Supporting development and implementation of new systems and procedures
We are a small team, so there will also be times when you will be required to cover the duties of our finance assistant and cashier.
Knowledge
You must be knowledgeable in the following areas:
· Proven experience working in a busy finance office
· Proven expertise with computerised accounts systems, preferably Sage 50
· ACA or equivalent qualification
· Highly proficient computer skills, including in-depth knowledge of Excel and major Microsoft programmes

Pay: £28,420.00-£30,337.97 per year
