The Catering Department provides freshly cooked, nutritious meals to patients, using locally sourced ingredients. Food plays a vital role in patient recovery, and we aim to deliver high-quality meals for their enjoyment. We also operate three retail catering environments serving staff and visitors. All team members contribute significantly to this service, ensuring food safety and quality standards are maintained.
Main duties of the job
The role includes:
* Loading food trolleys for the next meal service
* Performing light food preparation, including portioning menu items
* Transporting food trolleys to and from wards and departments
* Cleaning kitchen areas according to schedules
* Cleaning large kitchen equipment and machinery
* Washing up food preparation equipment manually and using dishwashers
* Managing waste disposal and recycling segregation
* Working in temperature-controlled environments
