We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Therapy Assistant to join our CCU/General Surgery Therapy Team.
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual who is eager to advance rehabilitation programmes for patients in critical care and post-surgical recovery. Your role will involve collaborating with physiotherapists and occupational therapists on the wards, supporting assessments, and ensuring safe and timely discharges from hospital.
You will receive comprehensive competency training, which will be further developed through regular training and supervision sessions with senior team members. The role requires participation in a 7-day working rota, including weekends and bank holidays.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Support patient rehabilitation efforts.
2. Perform clinical duties and routine administrative tasks within the department under the direction of a therapist.
3. Provide therapeutic interventions following set treatment protocols and rehabilitation prescriptions, monitoring patient progress under supervision.
4. Report patient progress and communicate any issues to the therapist.
5. Maintain a clean and safe environment by carrying out housekeeping tasks necessary for patient assessments and treatments.
6. Contribute to a 7-day service, including weekends and bank holidays.
