Job Purpose Main Duties
To be responsible for all aspects of day to day running a full-service café and bar, delivering high quality food and drinks service to Mitchell Arts Centre's customers.
* To prepare, serve and sell food and drink and ensure a friendly, welcoming and
inclusive cafe atmosphere.
* Cover the box office and phone when required
* Maintain establishment policies and procedures.
* Ensure all visitors to Mitchell Arts Centre receive high standards of customer service.
* Ensure all equipment and cafe environments are operational and safe at all times.
* Ensure all food, beverages and non-consumables are accounted for and charged,
maintaining a high level of accuracy and security with the tills and credit card
machines.
* Order food and non-food items when required.
* Uphold morale in the cafe/bar.
* Work closely with: Mitchell Arts Centre staff, volunteers, members of the local
community, and all other building users.
* To supervise volunteers and work placements as appropriate.
* To ensure daily refreshment requirements are fulfilled for hired spaces
* Ensuring health and safety regulations are strictly observed, recorded and archived.
* To be ensure daily checks and opening and closing procedures are carried out as
directed and that all food hygiene standards are followed. Perform opening and
closing procedures on building as required.
* To ensure that alcohol is sold according to the Licensing Act 2003.
* To ensure the café and front of house area is cleaned on a regular basis inline with
the cleaning rota
* Understand and respect the ethos of Mitchell Arts Centre as a whole entity and the
role of the Café as part of the organisation.
* Provide cover for Box office as required by daily operations and assist the FoH in
dealing with enquiries from the public as required.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From £12.21 per hour
Expected hours: 16 per week
