Hays Accountancy & Finance are supporting an organisation based between Bury St Edmunds and Sudbury who are looking for an experienced Senior Purchase Ledger Clerk / Supervisor / Bookkeeper, to assist with transactional finance for at least 8 weeks+ and starting ASAP.

Your new role

In this temporary Senior Purchase Ledger / Bookkeeper job, you will report to the Regional Finance Manager and assist with the sales and purchase ledger processing, reconciling supplier statements as well as bank account reconciliations. You will also assist at month-end with journals and collating financial data for early preparation of monthly management accounts with the Management Accounts team, so you need to be confident in producing accounts to trial balance and any experience of accruals and payments would be a bonus.

This will be an ongoing temporary finance job for at least 8 weeks+, based on 5-days in an office located in the IP29 area of Suffolk, which is on the south side of Bury St Edmunds and, due to their location, you will need to drive.


What you'll need to succeed

You will be immediately available with your own transport and able to process sales & purchase ledger invoices, post journals and, ideally, have experience of processing accounts to trial balance as well as an understanding of month-end reporting. You will be confident in using various accounting systems as well as having a good level of Excel. The key focus will be managing their high volume andplex purchase invoices for Head Office costs as well as invoices which need to be allocated to projects.

What you'll get in return

As explained, this is a temporary Accounts Assistant / Bookkeeper job, and you will be paid an hourly rate based on a salary range of £32,000 - £38,000 depending on experience.
