Offer description

The Apprentice Health Records clerk will be responsible for providing a Quality Health Records Service in line with Procedural Guidelines & Standards and will in the course of their duties:o Ensure that all communication with patients and their carers is always undertaken in a professional manner.o Will be required to work in all sections of Health Records, and be flexible around working evenings/weekends, as this will be a requirement.

THIS POST IS FIXED TERM FOR 12 MONTHS DUE TO APPRENTICE

Person Specification


Qualifications

* Educated to NVQ Level 2 or able to demonstrate the equivalent level of knowledge, skills and experience
* Educated to GCSE grades A-C or level 2 or equivalent in Maths and English.
* Knowledge or experience of WPAS/IFIT or similar NHS systems


Experience

* Experienced of using Microsoft office suite including virtual platforms


Aptitude and abilities

* Adhere to and can demonstrate SBU Values & Behaviours
* Able to demonstrate team working
* Able to demonstrate tact and diplomacy when working with others
* Ability to work in a busy, sometimes stressful environment, and to deal with interruptions
* Ability to communicate with patients and staff on a face-to-face, telephone or virtual.
* Ability to make decisions in accordance with agreed departmental protocols
* Ability to plan and organise own time to facilitate the safe management of case notes
* Welsh Language Skills are desirable levels 1 to 5 in understanding, speaking, reading, and writing in Welsh


Other

* Ability to travel within geographical area. Able to work hours flexibly
* Commitment to self-development and to seek out learning to meet the needs of the service
* Ability to undertake light manual handling duties when retrieving, transporting and filing case notes/documents or other relevant information; using equipment complying with SBU policy and procedures
