Responsibilities
* Review project plans, specifications, and drawings to determine the scope of work.
* Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for construction, manufacturing, or engineering projects.
* Analyse labour, material, and time requirements. Obtain quotes from suppliers and subcontractors.
* Assess project risks and incorporate contingencies into the estimate.
* Collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, and clients.
* Participate in bid reviews and presentations.
* Track and compare actual costs to estimates post-project to improve future accuracy.
* Primarily office-based with occasional site visits.
* Often works closely with project and commercial teams.
The Candidate will have:
* Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
* High attention to detail and accuracy.
* Good communication and negotiation abilities.
* Understanding of construction methods, materials, and processes.
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
* Time management and ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
* Degree or diploma in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
* Proven experience in estimating or a related construction role.
