About The Role
Join our Power Transmission and Distribution team as a Site Based Construction Manager within our Operational Team. You will deliver complex work that matters to our business and the world. You will be working on the Isle of Skye project.
Responsibilities
* Support Project Managers with overall profit and loss while ensuring safety, sustainability, environmental and quality standards.
* Promote a collaborative working environment, managing client, internal, and other stakeholders’ requirements.
* Manage Site Engineers / Project Engineers to ensure all work meets safety and technical policies and procedures.
* Plan work and oversee requirements for materials, plant and equipment.
* Oversee staffing and resource needs, managing staff for the project.
* Supervise labour force, monitor subcontractors, check materials, inspect work and oversee quality control.
* Liaise with Highways Authorities, Local Authorities, Utilities providers and others.
* Ensure project delivered on time and on budget, setting benchmarks, agreeing budgets, monitoring progress.
* Check design documents.
* Ensure all work meets safety and environment legislation, engineering and customer standards.
Qualifications
* Track record of project delivery.
* Experience in a similar role with a strong focus on Civils.
* Knowledge of standard contract forms.
* Proficiency in commercial/project management communications.
* Experience implementing safe systems of work.
* Effective verbal and written communication at all levels.
* Team management skills that empower, influence and inspire.
* Mentoring and support provision for team members.
* Commercial acumen.
* Full clean UK driving licence.
* Degree qualification in Electrical/Civil Engineering discipline – desirable.
* Qualification in APM – desirable.
* Experience with access road installation – desirable.
