Responsibilities
Within the role, you will be responsible for performing scheduled teaching, preparing learning materials, marking students work and liaising with awarding bodies and exam invigilation as required. You will provide valuable educational guidance, support and counselling for students and act as a personal tutor when required. You must complete and produce agreed deadlines documentation such as registers, schemes of work, records of work, course reviews, course analysis documentation, student reports, absence reports and course files. You will also deliver City and Guilds Performing Engineering Operations Level 1 up to Level 3 and City and Guilds Technical Certificate Level 1 up to Level 3.
Roles are normally advertised with a salary range. If you are offered a role at the college, relevant experience will be taken into consideration to determine your starting salary.
Qualifications
* Qualified to at least Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant subject.
* Must be a qualified teacher (PGCE, Cert Ed etc.) or willing to gain this within 2 years of appointment.
* Awareness of the quality standards within teaching.
* Demonstrate an understanding of current developments within your own specialist area and keep up to date.
* Knowledge of the broad range of learning needs and support within a learning environment.
* Able to analyse and use key information to inform teaching and learning.
* Welsh skills are desirable for this specific post. We encourage applications in Welsh; an application submitted in Welsh will not be treated less favourably than an application submitted in English.
* Qualified to at least Level 3 in a relevant specialist subject area, and possess or be willing to work towards a recognised teaching qualification.
