Job Description
VSMs are responsible for the management of the Visa Europe Region and more widely aid the global team in delivering the mission of the group. VSMs shall ensure an appropriate response to, and escalation of all security and safety incidents at facilities throughout the Visa Europe Region in line with organizational policies and procedures.
The role requires considerable experience in relationship, project, and vendor management and will require a good technical understanding of security systems, as VSMs will be required to support planned works across the lifespan of the various systems used by the security function, supported by a dedicated Physical Security Technology Team (PSTT).
VSMs will be routinely required to develop, review, and apply a wide range of defined procedures and protocols, and implementing corrective measures where necessary, in order to ensure that all security staff have a clear and thorough knowledge of requirements and duties. Where necessary, drawing on experience, exercising judgment and initiative to give effective guidance and direction to the managers, supervisors, and the wider team members under VSM management.
Travel to sites in the Visa Europe Region and potentially globally, will be required on occasion to support security and safety reviews, events or project works.
This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
8 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD
Preferred Qualifications
* Seven (7) years of directly applicable work experience with a bachelor’s degree, or at least five (5) years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, JD, MD), or at least two (2) years of work experience with a PhD
* Eight (8) or more years of work experience in a Corporate Security position, or equivalent law enforcement or military experience
* Five (5) or more years of country jurisdiction experience
* Six (6) or more years experience in applicable domain(s)
* Eight (8) or more years of experience in a position of responsible charge (managing direct reports)
* Four (4) years experience in risk management / assessment methodologies
* Proficient Customer Relations and Leadership Skills: Ability to manage a diverse range of internal stakeholders, including Executives and Senior Management, Lines of Business, Global Security, Travel, Compliance, Audit
* Human Resources, Procurement, Legal, Communications, Global Real Estate and Facilities, as well as participating on cross functional project teams
* Advanced written and verbal communication skills in developing, analyzing, interpreting, and presenting solutions to complex business models
* Proficient executive presence and the ability to influence and build credibility as a trusted advisor with leadership from global functions and geographies
* Advanced time management, organizational planning, and problem-solving skills
* Advanced understanding of project management and vendor management principles
* Advanced understanding of Plan / Design / Bid / Implement methodologies
* Advanced presence and the ability to influence and build credibility as a trusted advisor with stakeholders from regional functions and geographies
* Proficient ability to work independently and effectively in a complex environment with multi-location team structure
* Advanced follow-up skills with attention to detail and ability to multi-task, have leadership presence, strong team-orientation and interpersonal skills, flexibility, and strong analytical skills
* Specialized certifications, associations, and memberships desired
