Job Objectives And Responsibilities The Cleaning Supervisor at Bicester Village is responsible for leading a team of cleaning operatives to deliver consistently high standards of cleanliness and hygiene across the site. This includes managing rotas, ensuring compliance with health and safety procedures, overseeing the quality of cleaning services, and supporting the recruitment and training of new team members. The role requires proactive problem-solving and effective communication with both the team and management. Main duties Operational Leadership: Lead and motivate a team of cleaning operatives to deliver exceptional cleanliness across all guest-facing and back-of-house areas. Guest Experience Focus: Ensure all cleaning activities contribute to a memorable and premium guest experience, maintaining high standards in presentation and hygiene. Reactive Shift Coverage: Manage reactive rotas to ensure full coverage during peak and off-peak hours, including weekends and special events to maintain on the day coverage with shortfalls. Quality Assurance: Conduct regular audits and inspections to maintain service excellence. Training and Development: Deliver induction and ongoing training for new and existing staff, ensuring full understanding of cleaning protocols, equipment use, and customer service expectations. Stock and Equipment Management: Monitor and manage cleaning supplies, PPE, and equipment, ensuring availability, proper usage, and timely replenishment. Health & Safety Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to health and safety regulations, including COSHH, manual handling, and safe use of machinery. Incident Response: Act as first responder to cleaning-related incidents, such as spills, accidents, or urgent guest complaints, ensuring swift resolution and escalation when necessary. Communication and Reporting: Maintain clear communication with site management, reporting daily activities, issues, and performance metrics. Sustainability Practices: Promote environmentally friendly cleaning practices, including waste segregation, recycling, and efficient use of resources. Event Support: Coordinate cleaning support for special events, VIP visits, and seasonal campaigns, ensuring readiness and flexibility. Uniform and Presentation Standards: Ensure team members maintain a professional appearance and adhere to uniform standards at all times. Team Morale and Engagement: Foster a positive working environment, encouraging teamwork, recognition, and continuous improvement. Person Specification Minimum 2 years' experience in a cleaning supervisory role. Strong leadership and team coordination skills. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to high standards. Reliable, honest, and professional in appearance and conduct. Ability to work independently and use initiative. Effective communicator with a positive and proactive attitude. Passionate about delivering service excellence and continuous improvement. Must have been a UK resident for at least 5 years. Health And Safety Responsibilities Ensure all cleaning activities are carried out in accordance with company health and safety policies. Promote a culture of safety awareness and compliance within the team. Conduct risk assessments and ensure appropriate use of PPE. Report any hazards, incidents, or near misses to management immediately. Participate in safety training and encourage team engagement in safety practices. Maintain safe working conditions and ensure all equipment is used correctly and safely.
