The Opportunity A leading engineering consultancy is seeking a Mechanical Field Engineer to support major installation works on a large?scale nuclear construction project. This role blends on?site coordination with technical oversight, offering the chance to work on one of the UK’s most significant low?carbon energy developments.
We would also welcome applications from those in defence, power generation, pharmaceuticals, oil & gas, or heavy industrial manufacturing.
This role would suit candidates working as Mechanical Site Engineers, Field Technicians, Installation Engineers, Mechanical Supervisors, Construction Engineers, Mechanical Inspectors, Commissioning Technicians, QA/QC Mechanical Engineers, Mechanical Coordinators or Piping Engineers.
Your duties and responsibilities will be
Overseeing the installation of mechanical systems and equipment, ensuring work is carried out safely, accurately, and to specification.
Managing and verifying mechanical activities such as pipework, tanks, vessels, structural assemblies, HVAC and rotating equipment.
Conducting alignment checks, torqueing activities and joint integrity verification to maintain system performance and safety standards.
Preparing clear records, reports and evidence for construction and quality teams, ensuring documentation is accurate and traceable.
Working collaboratively across multi?disciplinary project teams, contributing to shared scopes and supporting site surveillance activities.You will have the following qualifications and experience
A strong mechanical background, ideally with recognised qualifications—however, substantial hands?on experience will also be considered.
Familiarity with site quality processes and documentation such as ITPs, NCRs or equivalent assurance procedures.
Ability to collaborate effectively within cross?functional teams, contributing to a consistent quality?focused approach.
Experience reviewing or checking technical documentation, including specifications and standards (e.g., ISO 9001 or project?specific requirements).
Confident working in large?scale construction or installation environments, ideally within a regulated industry.Get in touch now
