Fire Engineer (Social Housing) - Scunthorpe / Doncaster
Salary: £28,295 - £42,440 per annum + overtime, travel time & out-of-hours retainer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Fire Engineer to join a leading compliance and safety service provider, delivering fire safety servicing, maintenance, and repairs across social housing properties in the Scunthorpe and Doncaster areas.
This role is primarily focused on planned preventative maintenance (PPM), alongside reactive repairs of life safety systems. You will work across a variety of sites and environments, playing a key role in supporting Health & Safety compliance and ensuring systems are maintained to the highest standards.
Duties and Responsibilities
Service, maintain, and install fire alarm systems (BS5839-1) and emergency lighting systems
Work on associated systems including nurse call, access control, AOVs, and fire extinguishers
Carry out repairs and remedial works to life safety systems where required
Complete engineer service reports accurately and within required timescales
Identify and report system deficiencies or deviations from standards
Maintain emergency lighting systems and associated equipment
Conduct regular van stock checks and liaise with technical and procurement teams to ensure stock levels are maintained
Maintain a strong Health & Safety mindset, identifying and reporting risks promptly
Aim to achieve a first-time fix wherever possible
Qualifications & Experience
Previous experience servicing and maintaining fire alarm systems
Knowledge of analogue addressable and conventional fire alarm systems
FIA training (or equivalent) to BS5839-1 Fundamentals
Good understanding of BS5839 (Part 1 and Part 6)
Understanding of Health & Safety regulations within the workplace
Good IT literacy
Full UK driving licence
Flexible approach to work, including participation in an out-of-hours call-out rota
Salary & Package
Salary: £28,295 - £42,440 per annum (based on a 40-hour week)
Significant earning potential with overtime, travel time, and out-of-hours retainer fees
Fire Engineers typically work 45-50 hours per week, increasing overall earnings
Overtime paid at 1.5
