Gap Personnel is proud to be recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing industrial manufacturer for the position of Maintenance Technician. This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking production team and play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of machinery and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct routine maintenance, including inspection, cleaning, lubrication, and repairs on production machinery and equipment.
* Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions to minimize downtime.
* Perform preventive maintenance activities in line with established schedules.
* Coordinate with production supervisors to prioritize tasks and limit production disruption.
* Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, work orders, and repairs.
* Monitor machinery performance and recommend improvements to enhance reliability and safety.
* Support the installation and commissioning of new equipment.
* Adhere to all health and safety procedures and company policies.
* Maintain spare parts inventory and coordinate with suppliers when required.
* Collaborate with external contractors for specialized repairs or servicing.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills (Not Essential):
* High school diploma or equivalent. Technical certification in Mechanical, Plumbing, Gas or Heating Engineering is advantageous.
* Recognized qualification such as City & Guilds 6035 Level 2/3 or equivalent.
* Proven experience in a maintenance technician role within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
* Ability to read and interpret technical documents, manuals, schematics, and diagrams.
* Familiarity with machinery such as pumps, compressors, ovens, and conveyors.
* Understanding of safety regulations related to industrial maintenance.
* Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach.
* Good communication skills and ability to work well within a team.
* Flexibility to work occasional overtime or weekends as required.
* Physical capability to perform manual tasks, including lifting, bending, and working in tight spaces.
