ALM Hedging Manager – Salary is competitive
Location – York or Bristol
The ALM & Hedging Technical Shared Services team is the centre of excellence for Asset Liability Management in the Aviva Group.
The team is responsible for Asset Liability and Hedging Management across the UK Life, UK GI, Ireland and Group Centre businesses, covering a diverse range of funds including With-Profits, Matching Adjustment Portfolio (‘MAP’) annuity funds, and other non-profit funds.
A bit about the job:
The role involves producing, managing, and delivering ALM and Hedging insights across the businesses. The main responsibility is to optimize the balance sheet while controlling risk.
The role supports activities such as:
* The development and implementation of asset allocation strategies (SAA) across the Group, including With-Profits funds, to operate at the risk/reward frontier for optimal outcomes.
* Development and management of hedging strategies.
* Understanding and managing market risks with robust processes.
* Supporting capital management initiatives through ALM solutions.
* Providing management information for various forums and committees regarding asset allocation, hedging, and investment activities.
Skills and experience required:
* Strong relationship management skills and effective communication (written and oral).
* Ability to work flexibly and proactively, with good prioritization and planning skills.
* Understanding of the Solvency II balance sheet and how assets and liabilities behave under stress.
* Analytical skills, including proficiency with IT tools like Excel, VBA, Power-query, Python, or R.
* Interest or understanding of financial markets and investment options for insurers.
