Lead Technician Nights Decontamination

£26,866.94 per annum, + 30% increment
37.5 hours per week
Monday to Friday permanent Nights 20:00 pm till 04:00 am

The opportunity
Based in our state of the art Sterile Services Unit, your work will be varied, stimulating and will involve the cleaning, disinfection, inspection, packaging and sterilisation of surgical instruments. By joining us you’ll be making a significant contribution to Patient Safety in both Private and NHS Hospitals.
As our HSSU Lead Technician you will:
* Help lead a Team of HSSU Process Technicians under a PTL (Supervisor)
* Assist in organising the workload to ensure Customer requirements are met.
* Ensure that process equipment and accessories are in full working order and that all faults and anomalies are reported.
* Solve issues / problems and escalate where necessary.
* Deal with Customer queries.
* Lead Technicians will perform leader duties as requested by PTL to support in the leading of the team
* Lead team in times of Annual Leave and sickness alongside a second Lead Tech
The person
To succeed as a HSSU Lead Technician, you will need:
* To be enthusiastic and motivated.
* To have good organisational skills; post holders will be required to maintain accurate records / documentation in accordance with statutory and organisational policies and procedures.
* To maintain a clean and tidy working environment whilst checking medical devices for cleanliness, functionality and damage, and taking action to rectify any problems and escalating issues where necessary.
* To monitor stock issues as they arise and advise their line manager when goods need to be re-ordered.
You will need to have:
* A basic standard of general education with proven literacy and numeracy.
* Evidence of previous sterile services training.
* A knowledge of Endoscopes and their reprocessing.
* Good communication skills, verbal and written, and basic computer literacy.
* Attention to detail and an overarching desire to deliver a high quality service.
