About the Role
We're looking for a Dockside Handling Building (DHB) Associate Manager to join our team based from Coulport, Helensburgh. This position offers the option of our 4xFlex working pattern giving you a 4 day working week Mon - Thu.
Accountable to the SWS Operations Manager for the provision of oversight, co-ordination and guidance across the Dockside Handling Building (DHB) department to ensure delivery of contracted outputs to schedule and quality. Responsible for ensuring the availability of key SWS equipment in support of Explosives Handling Jetty (EHJ) and DHB operations.
The DHB Associate Manager will demonstrate leadership within a complex and dynamic organisation, exhibit and promote Full Spectrum Leadership Behaviours and drive these values through daily operations.
1. Act as the Building Manager for the Dockside Handling Building.
2. Perform the duties of EHJ Deck/DHB Supervisor, Jetty Operations Manager and/or Jetty Operations Controller during EHJ Active states.
3. Provide technical consultancy, assessment, advice and support to line management, ABL, Navy Command, and other stakeholders to ensure customer needs are met.
4. Attend UK and US/UK meetings, Technical Exchanges and related programme review meetings where required.
5. Responsible for maintaining a working knowledge and understanding of approved Trident documentation, mandatory Health and Safety legislation, acceptance standards and directives to ensure compliance with the Trident Programme and company requirements.
6. Coordinate employee recruitment, selection, training and development. Manage performance, absence, work assignments, salary, recognition and reward, disciplinary actions.
7. Lead through continuous improvement to achieve operational excellence in safety, quality, and cost management. Implement best practice throughout the operation.

Required skills, qualifications and experience
8. Ability to lead, supervise, develop and mentor technical staff
9. Experience and knowledge of SWS Operations conducted in the EHJ and DHB
10. Able to communicate effectively across a range of levels from the shop floor to senior management, including our various customers
11. Ability to plan, deconflict, analyse schedules for risk and opportunity and clearly communicate to programme manager and leads.
Desirable Skills:
12. Completed relevant Health & Safety training such as IOSH Managing Safely
