The Transport Manager oversees daily transport operations, fleet and driver management, and compliance with HSE and O' Licence regulations. This role ensures efficient scheduling, smooth logistics, cost control, and high service levels while maintaining compliance, safety, and operational efficiency across all transport activities. The Transport Manager is also responsible for managing subcontractors, optimizing collection processes, ensuring trailer availability, and on-time dispatch of goods. Additionally, this role collaborates with other TRI companies for best practices and operational improvements.
Working hours 37.5 hours per week.
Working 6:00am till 2:00pm each day.

Responsibilities
§ Health, Safety, and Compliance
o Ensure full compliance with H&S regulations, O' Licence requirements, driver hours, and roadworthiness standards across all transport operations.
o Enforce policies and procedures to maintain a safe working environment across transport, yard, and loading areas.
o Conduct regular risk assessments, implement corrective actions, and ensure PPE compliance for both in-house and subcontractor drivers.
o Monitor subcontractor compliance with route regulations, HSE policies, and contractual obligations.
o Oversee incident reporting, investigations, and corrective actions for transport-related safety violations.
§ Fleet and Transport Operations
o Manage daily transport activities, ensuring optimal fleet utilization and efficient driver scheduling.
o Monitor and maintain fleet compliance, including vehicle maintenance planning, inspections, and legal documentation.
o Ensure vehicles are roadworthy, in line with DVSA standards, and meet operational needs.
o Work closely with subcontractors and logistics providers to ensure seamless trailer movement and timely collections/deliveries.
o Oversee Cyrus transport planning, ensuring routes are optimized to enhance efficiency and service levels.
o Address operational disruptions and proactively resolve route and scheduling issues before they escalate.
§ Collections and Logistics Coordination
o Ensure smooth coordination of trailer movements to prevent shortages and maintain efficient inbound and outbound flows.
o Monitor subcontractor performance, reviewing key metrics and implementing corrective actions where needed.
o Oversee bank operations, ensuring timely swaps and repairs to optimize service efficiency.
o Liaise with suppliers and logistics partners to align collection schedules with production and site requirements.
§ Customer Service, Performance Management, and Reporting
o Act as the first escalation point for transport-related complaints, ensuring timely resolution and follow-up.
o Track key transport KPIs, including route completion rates, vehicle efficiency, and service levels, and drive performance improvements.
o Prepare and analyze weekly, monthly, and ad-hoc reports, ensuring data-driven decision-making.
o Maintain and optimize the use of operational systems (Cyrus, ActInTime, weighbridge reports, Ctrack).
o Ensure cost efficiency, aligning transport operations with budgetary targets.

Experience and Qualifications
§ Proven experience in transport or logistics management, preferably in a high-volume environment.
§ Strong background in fleet and driver management, with O' Licence compliance knowledge.
§ Experience in vehicle maintenance planning, regulatory compliance, and safety standards.
§ Proficiency in transport planning and logistics coordination systems.
