We have an exciting role on offer within our Adult Social Care and Health Service as a Senior Support Worker.
We are currently looking for a Senior Residential support worker to join our team at 22 Levick court, Middlesbrough councils in house short stay break service for adults with learning disabilities. Levick Court offers short stay breaks for adults with learning disabilities and is a 24 hour service.
The short stay breaks can range from one night to several weeks, depending on what the individuals and their families/ carers require. We are registered with the CQC and are rated Good.
The building is purpose built, which ensures that we can meet the needs of a wide range of individuals who access our service. We have 16 en-suite bedrooms, spacious communal areas including multi-purpose activity rooms, impressive sensory room, media room and secure gardens available to those accessing our services. We are seeking a focussed, motivated and positive individual, with experience of supervising/ managing people, services and quality within learning disability services, who are passionate about promoting person centred care.
You need to be working in a leadership role already to apply for this role, having previous experience of supervising in a care setting, and hold a leadership qualification (or part way through). Your role is to oversee/maintain the care of individuals who access our service, working closely with the registered manger to achieve this.
In addition to the above, part of your role will also be to oversee the following: 1:1 supervision/ appraisal to a team of staff Manage the day to day running of the service Deputise in the absence of the managers Ensure compliance with all statutory bodies Assess and monitor the quality of care provided Complete assessments and reports as required Auditing. Due to the nature of the service you will need to be able to communicate effectively at all levels and have excellent time management, organisational skills and the ability to work on your own initiative.
The successful candidate will have a vital role supporting the management in overseeing administration tasks, whilst also being expected to work ‘on the floor’ with staff and lead the team by example. In the absence of the management, you will take responsibility for the day to day running of the service and ensure all policy, procedures and legal requirements are adhered to within the specified timeframes. You need a good understanding of CQC and Health and Safety legislation. In return we can offer you a structured management training portfolio, enhancements for working Sundays and Bank holidays.
