We’re working with a specialist SEMH school in Gateshead supporting pupils who need structure, consistency and someone who won’t give up on them. Many students have experienced trauma, adverse childhood experiences, or are at risk of exclusion.
What your day will look like:
* Supporting pupils 1:1 or in small groups
* Using de-escalation and behaviour strategies
* Helping students regulate emotions and re-engage with learning
* Building trust with young people who may struggle with authority
* Working alongside teachers, pastoral teams and safeguarding leads
Your understanding of behaviour, risk factors and social systems won’t sit in a textbook here. You’ll see it play out in real time, and you’ll learn how to respond professionally and calmly.
