The Role
This role requires an understanding of the operational railway and the processes used to manage train services in real time. Responsibilities include monitoring and recovering services, providing information, and managing key contractual and performance interfaces with Network Rail.
The successful candidate will manage and deliver a safe, punctual, and reliable train service by making quick and effective decisions. Effective communication across all levels of the business and external stakeholders, especially with Network Rail, is essential. Accurate incident recording, train service management, and performing well under pressure are key aspects of this role.
We operate on a 3-shift system (early, late, night) based on a 37-hour week. Sundays are outside the regular working week, but working Sundays is required with remuneration provided.
What we are looking for
We seek a flexible, enthusiastic, and committed colleague. Due to multiple IT systems, being IT-literate and quick to learn new systems is necessary. The role demands good organization, workload prioritization, excellent customer service, and effective communication skills. Understanding customer needs during disruptions is crucial.
