SEN Teacher Contract: Full-time, long-term Pay: Dependent on skills and experience Hours: Monday–Friday: 8:30am – 3:30pm Wednesday: 8:30am – 4:30pm (staff meeting) We are currently recruiting on behalf of a Secondary SEN School in Burnley for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teacher to join their team on a full-time, long-term basis. This role is ideal for a teacher who is passionate about inclusive education and delivering meaningful learning experiences for pupils with additional needs. The Role You will be teaching a sensory-based, practical class supporting pupils with Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD). The focus is on personalised learning, engagement, communication, and the development of independence and life skills. Key responsibilities include: Planning and delivering differentiated, pupil-centred lessons Using sensory and practical approaches to support learning Working collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, therapists, and support staff Creating a calm, structured, and nurturing learning environment Monitoring and recording progress against EHCP outcomes The Ideal Candidate Holds QTS or an equivalent teaching qualification Has experience working within SEN settings (MLD/PMLD experience desirable but not essential) Demonstrates patience, flexibility, and a reflective teaching approach Is confident working as part of a multidisciplinary team Has a genuine commitment to supporting pupils with complex needs If you are an SEN Teacher seeking a rewarding long-term role within a specialist secondary setting, we would love to hear from you.
