ESOL Teacher – General Cover (Secondary Schools)

Milk Education is seeking a committed, adaptable, and enthusiastic ESOL Teacher to support secondary pupils with English as an Additional Language (EAL), while also providing general classroom cover across a range of subjects. This is an excellent opportunity for an educator who is passionate about language development, cultural inclusion, and supporting young people to achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Deliver targeted ESOL support sessions to help pupils improve reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills.
2. Provide general cover across various subjects using pre-planned materials.
3. Support newly arrived students and those developing English proficiency.
4. Adapt communication and resources to meet diverse language needs.
5. Maintain a positive, inclusive learning environment that supports student confidence and progress.
6. Manage classroom behaviour effectively while delivering engaging lessons.
7. Work collaboratively with teaching staff to ensure consistent support for EAL learners.
Requirements:
8. Experience teaching ESOL or supporting EAL learners in a school setting.
9. Strong classroom management and adaptability across multiple subjects.
10. Ability to differentiate communication for students at varying levels of English proficiency.
11. Excellent interpersonal skills and cultural sensitivity.
12. Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
QTS desirable but not essential—experienced ESOL instructors encouraged to apply.
