The Oxford Martin School is seeking a Communications and Media Assistant to join our external relations team, supporting the School’s mission to communicate pioneering, interdisciplinary research on global challenges. This permanent, full-time role offers an exciting opportunity to help build the School’s global profile. Working closely with the Communications and Media Manager, you will help deliver compelling content and campaigns across digital, print and media channels — including website, social media, newsletters, and external engagement. You will also support media relations, events and communications projects that bring the School’s work to diverse audiences. We are looking for a confident and creative communicator, with strong digital and visual-formatting skills and a proven ability to produce engaging content. You should be capable of translating complex research into clear, accessible stories — and able to manage multiple tasks to tight deadlines while maintaining high standards. The role requires both a collaborative mindset and the independence to drive projects forward, working across the University, with researchers, communications colleagues, and external partners to ensure messaging is aligned, consistent and impactful. The Oxford Martin School supports the University’s commitment to equal opportunity, and to being a place where everyone belongs and is supported to succeed. We recognise how the diversity of our community enriches our ability to deliver on our academic mission. We welcome applications from individuals from all backgrounds, including those under-represented within higher education. No applicant or members of staff shall be unlawfully discriminated against on the basis of age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage or civil partnership, pregnancy or maternity, race, religion or belief, sex, or sexual orientation. You will be required to upload your CV and a supporting statement as part of your online application. Your supporting statement should list each of the essential and desirable selection criteria, as listed in the job description, and explain how you meet each one. Both documents must be submitted to be considered. Only applications received before 12:00 noon on Friday 28 November 2025 can be considered. We expect to hold interviews in the week commencing 15 December 2025.
