The purpose of this role is to support the management team in achieving maximum production efficiency and product quality. It also involves ensuring adherence to food safety regulations, hygiene procedures, legal compliance, and process systems. The role requires leading by example and ensuring that you and your team comply with company policies concerning Product Quality, Food Safety, and Integrity.
Key Responsibilities
1. Be audit-ready at all times.
2. Conduct ongoing inspections of facilities, equipment, and processes.
3. Follow the scheduled training plans for staff on food safety policies, sanitation practices, and compliance requirements.
4. Lead the team to foster a culture of safety and quality across all operations, adopting the 3-step plan to SEE IT - SORT IT - REPORT IT.
5. Support staff in troubleshooting food safety issues.
6. Maintain accurate records of safety checks, audits, and corrective actions.
7. Monitor product quality to ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.
8. Allocate and supervise staff across different lines to achieve production targets and efficiency.
9. Understand and utilize systems like AX, Autocoding, and Sparc within the department.
10. Control packaging, labels, and sign off required documents.
11. Observe stock rotation and control within the department.
12. Ensure production records are accurately completed.
13. Sign off on department-specific training.
14. Investigate operational people management issues such as timekeeping and work performance, reporting issues to management.
15. Implement and monitor Health and Safety, Food Safety (HACCP), and Hygiene procedures at all times.
16. Lead by example to ensure team adherence to company policies related to Product Quality, Food Safety, and Integrity.
17. Collaborate with other departments to address quality and compliance issues.
18. Create a culture of excellence, integrity, and collaboration; promote a "do the right thing" mentality.
19. Undertake other duties as deemed necessary within the scope of the role.
Qualifications and Experience
* Basic proficiency in verbal and written English.
* Minimum of 3 years' experience in a Production Supervisor role within the food industry.
