Senior Engineer - District Heating & Renewable Energy
Locations: London, Glasgow, or North West England
Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 + Vehicle Allowance + Company Pension + Specialist Training + 33 Days Holiday + Holiday Purchase Options + Flexibility On Hours
Are you a Mechanical or Building Services Engineer with experience in Renewable Energy or District Heating projects? Looking to progress your career by joining a leading Renewable Energy business that offers a clear development plan to reach Associate Engineer status?
This company, with hundreds of employees across the UK, is a leading EPC business in the Renewable Energy and Sustainability sectors, involved in District Heating schemes, Solar PV, and Heat Pump installations. Following recent significant investments, they aim to expand further and strengthen their industry position.
In this role, you will lead the delivery of major District Heating and Renewable Energy projects for public and private sector clients, including hospitals, universities, and local councils.
The ideal candidate will have a Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Service Engineering, or similar, with 2+ years of experience in District Heating or Sustainable Energy projects such as Solar, Heat Pumps, or CHP.
This is an excellent opportunity for motivated individuals to advance their careers by working on some of the largest projects in the country, with a structured development plan and clear progression paths.
The Role:
* Office-based with some hybrid working (discussed with management)
* Design work, calculations, and feasibility studies for Sustainable Energy projects
* Supporting the development of junior engineering staff
* Contributing to business development, bids, and tenders
* Reviewing costs and lifecycle cost analysis
* Assessing and interpreting client requirements
* Equipment selection, calculations, and specifications
The Person:
* Degree in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering or similar
* Chartered Engineer status or working towards it (desirable)
* Strong knowledge of Heating, Energy, or Building Services equipment (e.g., plantrooms, boilers, pipework)
