All posts attract NHS employment benefits including pension and time served enhancements. We warmly welcome retirees who may be considering returning for a new challenge. Our doctors are committed to delivering better health outcomes, tackling health inequalities, and working with the most marginalised patients in the country.
We aim to be flexible in matching availability with service needs, offering part‑time and flexible working options.
Prison Healthcare GPs play a crucial clinical leadership role in our prison primary healthcare teams. Previous experience of working in a jail is desirable but not essential – full induction and training will be provided, with round‑the‑clock access to experienced clinical supervision for new doctors.
Personal and professional attributes of compassion, empathy, fairness and multidisciplinary working, alongside a desire to deliver high‑quality, innovative care, are cornerstones of our successful working model.
Line managed and supported by a Regional Lead GP, you will have access to continuing professional development, appraisal, revalidation support through our GP forum, and an ILM‑accredited leadership and management programme.
Substance Misuse You may already have a special interest in substance misuse; if not, we will invest in you to attain expertise and confidence, backed by national accreditation to deliver a substance misuse extended role.
