Key Responsibilities of an HGV Mechanic / HGV Technician / HGV Fitter Carry out servicing, maintenance, and safety inspections on HGVs and trailers Perform diagnostics and mechanical repairs on a range of commercial vehicles Conduct brake, suspension, axle, and structural repairs (including welding) Maintain accurate records of all repairs, inspections, and compliance documents Ensure work meets DVSA and manufacturer standards Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to a safe and productive workshop Requirements for the HGV Mechanic Role / HGV Technician / HGV Fitter Proven experience as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic, or Commercial Vehicle Technician NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance Excellent diagnostic and fault-finding ability Full UK driving licence (HGV Class 1 licence preferred but not essential) Desirable IRTEC accreditation If you're a professional HGV Technician or Commercial Vehicle Fitter looking for a better shift pattern, competitive pay and long-term progression, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
