Job Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and enthusiastic registered nurse/ODP to join the Endoscopy Unit. The successful candidate will work within a team delivering high standards of pre-, peri- and post-procedure care to patients undergoing a variety of Endoscopy procedures. The unit operates six days a week and serves both out-patients and in-patients with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for adults.
Responsibilities
* Deliver high standards of pre-, peri- and post-procedure care for Endoscopy patients
* Support and training in gastroenterology knowledge, anatomy and physiology
* Assist with procedures such as gastroscopy, flexible sigmoidoscopy, colonoscopy, bronchoscopy and Urology procedures
* Collaborate with Gastroenterologists, Surgeons, Nurse Endoscopists and Bowel Screening Wales practitioners
* Engage in a range of endoscopy training courses from basic to advanced skills
* Follow a standard competency pathway with mentorship and development plans
* Develop skills in management, bowel screening and specialist endoscopy areas for future career progression

Qualifications
Essential
* Current NMC/HCPC registration
* Degree in Adult Nursing / Higher Education Diploma / Degree in Operating Department Practice
Desirable
* Evidence of post-registration study and training
* Teaching / Assessor qualification
Experience
Essential
* Pre-registration evidence in direct nursing care
* Experience of providing holistic nursing care
* Interest in developing personal and professional skills
Desirable
* Clear understanding of clinical governance framework
* Implement evidence-based practice
* Previous Endoscopy or Theatre experience
Language
* Welsh speaker (Level 1) is Desirable
