Our client now requires a Financial Director to join their European team, who will be responsible for all aspects of finance, accounting, IT and sustainability within the business as well as having responsibility for the financial reporting up to the global Group.
This role has hybrid/ flexible working arrangements as well as an attractive compensation and benefits package.
The Role:
Reporting to the Managing Director, as Financial Director, you will be expected to be involved in the strategic management of the business. In addition, you will also have responsibility for compliance with Group policy, legal statutes and wider ethical practices.
This role will be responsible for, but not limited to:
managing the Finance and IT teams for the business
producing accurate and complete management accounts on a timely basis
statutory account preparation and assisting where required with Group audits
managing the annual budget process, aligned with overall business strategy
managing working capital and cashflow to ensure alignment with business KPIs
undertaking the role of Company Secretary
being instrumental in global growth plans for the business
identifying and implementing business improvement projects
where required, involvement in Group acquisitions, due-diligence and integration projects
As Financial Director, you will be required to operate at a strategic level in order to advise, implement and influence at all levels, throughout the business.
The Candidate:
Ideally of graduate standard, or higher, from within a finance, accounting or business related discipline, candidates for the Financial Director role will also be required to demonstrate that they:
have completed a further financial qualification (i.e. ACA, CIMA, ACCA)
have previous experience working as a Finance Director or in a similar senior financial leadership role, ideally within the manufacturing sector
have in-depth knowledge of international financial accounting principles and reporting standards
are able to develop and implement strategic financial plans
have previous experience of working on a pan-European / international business basis
have excellent communication and presentation skill, with the ability to be flexible in a challenging environment
are able to convey financial information clearly and effectively
are highly proficient in financial software and MS Office applications including Excel and PowerPoint
have the capability to be a hands‑on type individual, who demonstrates initiative and has a positive and professional outlook
have the ability to work effectively both within a team, but also under their own initiative; are used to multi‑tasking and can prioritise their workload in order to meet exacting deadlines
have the ability to be analytical, strategic and results driven, with a strong commitment to success
have the capacity to be a strong, capable leader, with the presence to motivate and influence
have the ability to be commercially astute, analytical and results driven with a strong commitment to success and excellence
Candidates for the Financial Director role should note that there will be both domestic and potentially some international travel with this role.
