Role Summary
This role is hands-on and varied, offering exposure across various voltages and design. You’ll be mentored and developed by experienced engineers to accelerate your technical knowledge and career progression.
Key Responsibilities:
• Producing general arrangements, layouts, single line diagrams, technical submittals, and reports
• Supporting Senior Engineers with design calculations, documentation, and value engineering
• Assisting Tendering Engineers and Project Managers with drawings and day-to-day technical challenges
• Producing “as-built” drawings and ensuring design outputs are accurate, buildable, and cost-conscious
• Maintaining design standards, drawing registers, and technical documentation in line with our Business Management System (BMS)
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare compliant designs in line with customer requirements, ENA, DNO & IDNO G81 standards, BS7671 and our BMS
• Produce accurate construction and as-built drawings
• Support with technical submittals and design documents for projects and tenders
• Work closely with Senior Engineers, Tendering Engineers, and Project Managers
• Engage with external stakeholders to clarify technical requirements
• Escalate design challenges quickly to minimise business impact
• Ensure all design work supports NERS accreditations, our BMS and
project financials
• Participate in design audits and reviews
• Promote best practice, value engineering, and continuous development within the team
Experience & Qualities
Essential:
• HND or degree in Electrical Engineering (or related discipline)
• Experience with LV/11kV design and principles, with a desire to learn and develop knowledge of EHV networks and design
• Understanding of the practical application of electrical installations
• Strong communication skills, able to work with clients, project managers, and site teams
• Safety awareness – EUSR/CSCS/ECS and First Aid at Work Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
Desirable:
• Experience with/understanding of earthing design and private electricity networks
• Familiarity with ENA, DNO or IDNO G81 standards
• Experience with/understanding of control, protection, and automation schemes
• Interest in progressing towards Incorporated Engineer status with the IET
• Ability to multitask and manage workload effectively

• Monday – Friday 8:30am – 17:00pm (40 hours per week)
(Attendance at Kettering Office to be agreed with Head of Private Networks)
