We’re working with a well-established manufacturing business in Milton Keynes who are looking to bring in an experienced HSE Adviser to support their site.
This is a hands-on role where you’ll be visible on the shop floor, working closely with teams at all levels to improve safety standards and drive a strong safety culture.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll take ownership of day-to-day health, safety and environmental activity across the site, including:
• Carrying out risk assessments and ensuring effective control measures are in place
• Leading internal audits and supporting subcontractor audits
• Investigating incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and putting actions in place
• Maintaining accurate HSE records and ensuring compliance with current legislation
• Delivering safety training and toolbox talks
• Providing practical advice and support to managers, supervisors and operatives
• Monitoring HSE performance and supporting KPI reporting
• Driving engagement and encouraging a proactive approach to safety across the business
This is not a desk-based role. You’ll be expected to challenge where needed, build relationships, and be a visible presence on site.
What we’re looking for
• NEBOSH General Certificate (or higher) – essential
• Experience in a HSE role within a manufacturing or industrial environment
• Good working knowledge of UK health & safety legislation
• Confident carrying out investigations and audits
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to influence people at all levels
• Comfortable delivering training and speaking to groups
• Proactive, approachable and able to work independently
What’s on offer
• A stable, well-established business with a strong operational presence
• The opportunity to take ownership of HSE on site
• A role where you can genuinely influence culture and make an impact
• Ongoing development and training opportunities
Why this role is worth considering
If you’re currently in a role where HSE feels like paperwork and box-ticking, this will be different.
You’ll have the chance to get onto the shop floor, challenge behaviours, and actually improve how safety is managed day to daY.
