Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic band 6 Podiatrist to join a hardworking and motivated podiatry team in Lincolnshire. Lincolnshire offers a perfect balance of modern amenities and a relaxing lifestyle, with vibrant nightlife, high street shopping, rural countryside, and unspoilt coastline. The area has excellent direct rail links to London, Nottingham, and Leicester, with access to all major road networks.
The Podiatry service acts as a single point of contact for triaging all foot referrals in Lincolnshire, working seamlessly with the Multidisciplinary Diabetic Foot Clinic in secondary care. You will have the opportunity to work across various settings, including GP surgeries, health clinics, and diabetic foot clinics at four hospital sites across the county.
Please note this position will not commence before July 2025.
Main duties of the job
We focus on high-risk Podiatric Pathologies that require specialized skills, and therefore, the service does not provide routine nail and foot care. The service offers treatments such as wound management, diabetes-related care, biomechanics, nail surgery, and new patient assessments. You will work across these areas, supporting less experienced colleagues' professional development. Support will be provided for IRMER training, and you will have access to diagnostic tools like blood testing, X-rays, and ultrasound. Consultations are conducted face-to-face, via telephone, and video.
We seek a candidate with excellent clinical and diagnostic skills, a positive attitude, flexibility, and adaptability, willing to challenge traditional views of Podiatry.
