Sue Ross Recruitment working with a specialist engineering company who are seeking a proactive Sales Operations Coordinator to support and manage the day‑to‑day running of their busy materials sales function. This is a key role at the heart of the business—acting as the central link between customers, internal teams, and operations to ensure orders run smoothly from enquiry to delivery.

As the Sales Operations Coordinator, you will work closely with the Commercial Manager and Commercial Assistant to support sales activity, coordinate logistics, and ensure excellent customer service. Your responsibilities will include:
Sales & Customer Management
* Handling incoming enquiries from new and existing customers
* Preparing and issuing quotations
* Following up on quotes to maximise conversion
* Building and maintaining strong, long-term customer relationships
* Identifying opportunities to upsell or increase order value
Operations & Coordination
* Coordinating deliveries and logistics with customers and hauliers
* Tracking orders from initial enquiry through to successful completion
* Proactively resolving delivery or order issues
* Maintaining accurate records of orders, pricing, and customer details
Finance & Sales Administration
* Raising and processing sales invoices quickly and accurately
* Ensuring correct invoicing in line with agreed pricing and margins
* Liaising with the accounts team to resolve discrepancies
* Keeping clear records of invoicing and customer transactions
* Supporting credit control follow-ups when needed
Sales Support & Business Operations
* Assisting the Commercial Assistant with day-to-day sales activities
* Helping manage the sales pipeline, priorities, and follow-ups
* Contributing to process improvements to boost efficiency and conversion
* Supporting with pricing updates and margin tracking
About You
We’re looking for someone who is:
* Highly organised with excellent communication skills
* Confident and professional when speaking with customers
* Able to manage multiple enquiries and competing priorities
* Commercially minded and proactive in approach
* Competent with IT systems including Excel, email, and CRM tools
