We are a fast-growing residential developer based near Bristol, delivering high-quality homes across the South West. With a strong pipeline of projects ranging from small urban developments to large-scale mixed-use sites, we are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team. Role Overview:
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in the commercial management of residential developments, from land acquisition through to final account. You will be responsible for cost planning, budgeting, procurement, contract administration, and ensuring value for money throughout the project lifecycle. Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and manage accurate cost plans and budgets for new developments.
Conduct feasibility studies and cost analysis for new sites.
Manage tendering processes and assess subcontractor packages.
Negotiate and manage contracts with suppliers and subcontractors.
Monitor ongoing project costs, valuations, and variations.
Produce monthly cost reports and forecasts for senior management.
Work closely with the design, construction, and sales teams to ensure commercial viability.
Carry out site visits to monitor progress and ensure cost control measures are in place.
Finalise project accounts and ensure contractual obligations are met.
Requirements:
Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
Minimum 3 years experience as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably within the residential development sector.
Strong knowledge of JCT contracts and UK construction law.
Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
Proficient in cost management software (e.g., COINS, Causeway, Excel).
Full UK driving licence.
