Mowbray Day Centre Care Worker Permanent, full time 37 hours (Monday to Thursday 8.30 to 4.00 Friday 8.30 to 3.30)

The successful applicant will join a team of staff providing care and support to adults with learning difficulties.
You will be expected to promote the wellbeing, self‑confidence, and independence of service users, providing activities that meet their needs and interests, creating opportunities for social contact and learning, and supporting them to access and make best use of local community facilities.
Main duties of the job
In your day‑to‑day duties you will provide care and support to the service users attending the Day Centre, assisting the supervisory team in the delivery of the Centre’s timetable of activities.
You will meet clients’ intimate and personal needs and maintain their privacy and dignity at all times.
You may provide 1:1 support to a number of service users, working both in and out of the Centre.
You may act as a Key Worker for some individuals, maintaining appropriate written records, communicating with parents and carers, and reporting any concerns or issues promptly to supervisor staff/management.
If you hold a driving licence, you will drive the Centre minibus; if you do not, you will act as a passenger escort to meet the transport requirement of the post.
You will administer medication in accordance with medical advice and service procedures, observing best practice.
You should be aware of and comply with relevant legislation, National Standards, and Codes of Conduct for Social Care staff.
Qualifications and Experience
* Good general education, demonstrating literacy and numeracy.
* Must be caring, cooperative, and have some experience of providing care (a care qualification is desirable).
* Reliability, consistency, calmness, and adaptability to meet the needs of service users.
* Openness, honesty, integrity, respect for service users.
* Observant and able to anticipate service users’ needs.
Additional Requirements
You should be able to build positive working relationships and work cooperatively with service users, families, colleagues, and other professionals for the benefit of the service users.
