Product manager (mid-level)

Marlborough
AM
Product manager
Posted: 21 August
Offer description

We’re seeking a proactive, passionate, and highly collaborative Product Manager to join our fantastic product team, working on a high-profile programme of work.

About us

At AM, our Product Managers help turn primary sources into digital adventures, unveiling the mysteries of hidden voices. We design and develop tools that empower AM’s editorial teams and our SaaS customers to manage and present digitised materials; helping students and researchers explore and share historical information from physical archives.

We thrive on agility; adapting, learning, and iterating swiftly. Product management at AM is dynamic, progressive, and rooted in a bias for action, always looking for ways to deliver value effectively.

Our Product Managers work in small, cross-functional, autonomous teams alongside engineers and designers, collaborating across our organisation and with our customers. We embrace Continuous Discovery and Continuous Deployment practices to enable rapid and sustainable delivery, ensuring we create meaningful, impactful solutions for our customers and the business.

About the role

Level: Mid-level

Location: (Hybrid)

We are hiring a Product Manager to join one of two teams working on the Published Sites programme, a complex and major strategic project for AM.

The Published Sites programme is overhauling how users interact with primary sources and the websites they are contained within, and upgrading the underlying technologies to ensure our platform is prepared for continued growth and that our content meets accessibility standards.

While your initial focus will be on the Published Sites programme, this is a permanent role. As our products and priorities evolve, you may also contribute to other projects and move between teams as needed. We value flexibility, and our Product Managers are trusted to apply their skills wherever they can have the most impact.

What you’ll do

1. Maintain a deep understanding of the programme and its value to customers and the business. Identify and prioritise opportunities that align with strategic goals, and work with stakeholders to communicate value and delivery schedules.

3. Partner with our customer-facing teams to keep communications aligned; you’ll often participate directly in customer communications.
4. Collaborate closely with engineering and delivery teams to enable rapid value delivery, ensuring success metrics are defined, understood, and tracked.
5. Champion Continuous Discovery and Continuous Deployment, creating alignment between strategic objectives and delivery plans.

As a member of the Technology department, you’ll be required to attend the office at least once per month. However, as a member of the product team, you should expect on occasion to be available for in-office meetings and collaboration more often than this. Occasional travel to conferences or to meet with customers is also expected.

We’re looking for an experienced mid-level Product Manager who:

6. Values collaborative and iterative ways of working, embracing Continuous Discovery and Continuous Deployment principles.
