About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Printer Assistant to join our team at our site in Loughton, Essex. Reporting to the Print Process Lead, you will assist our Printers with general duties on the print machine in a safe and efficient manner. This includes ensuring production materials are available and prepared, ready for use.
Key Responsibilities
* Keep the machines and surrounding areas clean and tidy adhering to 5S standards.
* Follow instruction from fellow crew members regarding the wash up, including cleaning all necessary machine parts when required.
* Transport work to and from the machine and secure holding area, knocking up and handling substrate.
* Responsible for the optimal and continuous running of the feeder, making adjustments where required to support an efficient process.
* Load feeder and unload machine, stack materials, operate lifting tables and feeder/delivery hoists.
* Load board feeders onto press.
* Ensure batch management protocols are adhered to in line with ISO 14298 standards.
* Portering and control of WIP ensuring machines have constant supply of correct product. Machine kanbans to be kept full at all times adhering to batch control procedures with strict adherence to ISO 14298.

Working hours
Double Day shift pattern – Monday to Friday, 6am – 2pm or 2pm - 10pm (alternated weekly). From 31st August 2026, we will transition to a 24/5 Shift Pattern – 12‑hour shifts of either 6:00 am to 6:00 pm or 6:00 pm to 6:00 am, Monday to Friday. Attendance is 40 hours per week on average, including a 30‑minute unpaid break and a 15‑minute unpaid break to be taken during the shift.

Basic Salary
£36,292 per annum on Double Days, rising to £38,574 per annum on 24/5 shift pattern. Upon successful completion of a 6‑month probation period, this will rise to £39,258 per annum.
Skills, Qualifications & Experience
* Forklift truck license
* Comprehensive understanding of the banknote printing process
* Good eyesight with the ability to distinguish between colours
* Operate under own initiative
* Functional knowledge of jogging machines
* Basic knowledge of printing presses
