WHY JOIN THE TEAM?
This role is part of the Central Digital Team EMEA, within Global Channels and Streaming, touching some of BBC Studios’ major emerging lines of business.
Reporting to Director of Digital and OnDemand, the Head of Editorial Strategy for Digital Products EMEA is responsible for driving audience growth, engagement and monetisation performance through data‑led content planning, scheduling, merchandising and rights strategy.
You will be an expert in running and growing digital first products, helping to shape a vision of what a successful, digital editorial strategy looks like, and supporting business in scaling and monetising digital branded Products EMEA products.
YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT
* Define and deliver the editorial strategy for FAST channels across EMEA and key affiliate Player partners in Spain and Germany.
* Own and optimise performance KPIs including HOV, engagement, reach, yield and monetisation.
* Translate performance insights into scheduling, programming and merchandising optimisation.
* Implement corrective actions for underperforming products to improve audience and revenue outcomes.
* Collaborate with Commercial teams to shape long‑term content acquisition and rights strategies.
* Lead structured testing of scheduling, programming windows and merchandising tactics across platforms.
* Act as editorial lead for affiliate Player partnerships, driving performance reviews and strategic alignment.
* Establish editorial best practices, lead performance forums and enhance workflows to support scalable growth.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
* Previous experience of curating content and managing performance for digital first services
* Understanding of viewers’ journey in digital ecosystem, curation, and merchandising process
* Deep understanding of FAST, AVOD and SVOD consumption dynamics.
* Advanced ability to interpret performance dashboards and translate insights into actionable editorial decisions.
* Strong presentation skills, required to produce regular presentations with data analysis and editorial performance
* A proactive approach to problem solving to improve processes and to achieve best practice.
* A flexible and collaborative approach to working in matrix structure
