Site Lead – Cleaning & Facilities Operations

Reporting to: Facilities Manager
We are seeking a confident and proactive Site Lead to take full operational responsibility for delivering high-quality cleaning and facilities services on site.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you will drive performance, build strong client relationships, ensure compliance, and develop a high-performing team. You will work closely with the Facilities Manager while taking ownership of the day-to-day running of the site.
The Role
As Site Lead, you will be accountable for operational excellence, team capability, compliance, customer satisfaction, and financial performance. You will lead from the front, ensuring standards are consistently met while creating a positive and productive working environment.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management:
Role model company values with the team and client.
Effectively manage team attendance, absence levels, and scheduling.
Act as the first point of contact for employee relations matters.
Ensure all colleagues receive effective onboarding and appropriate role-based training.
Identify skills gaps and provide coaching and development support.
Recruit, retain, and develop high-quality team members through the Cleaning Academy.
Build team capability and succession through structured feedback and coaching.
Operational Excellence:
Conduct regular audits to monitor quality and continuously improve standards.
Carry out daily site checks and resolve or escalate issues as appropriate.
Ensure compliance with company policies, standards, and legislative requirements.
Assist with health & safety and other compliance audits.
Monitor stock levels of consumables and coordinate replenishment.
Customer & Commercial Focus:
Build strong client relationships and add value to the customer experience.
Work with the Customer Service Co-ordinator to resolve queries and complaints, including root cause analysis.
Drive all key performance indicators.
Maximise sales and profit opportunities.
Monitor site expenditure and manage budgets to ensure efficient use of resources.

Experience within a pharmaceutical environment would be advantageous but is not essential.
