The role of School Attendance Court Liaison Officer provides support to the management and officers within the wider School Attendance Service, focussed specifically with the Local Authority’s legal and statutory duties in respect of school attendance. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:
* The ability to work with, devise and implement effective systems & processes and contribute to the development of a high-quality service.
* Possess good organisational skills and be able to manage own time effectively.
* Possess a detailed knowledge of appropriate legislation and to keep up to date with current guidance.
* The ability to communicate information effectively both orally and in writing to a wide range of audiences, including senior solicitors and court officials.
* The ability to work within strict time frames to ensure legal processes are completed within a timely manner.
* Ability to arrange and facilitate training to a wide range of professionals and partners.
* The ability to deal with customer enquiries in a professional manner, to promote customer satisfaction and provide a customer focused service delivery.
* Demonstrate assertiveness and the ability to deal with difficult conversations with parents both on the phone and in person.
* Demonstrate an understanding of the need for confidentiality.
* Experience of using databases, to input and extract information.
Please be aware that this post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and that you will be required to meet the cost of the DBS check currently £49.50. The payment for this will be deducted from your first four months’ salary payments at a rate of £12.38 per month. If you do not commence employment for any reason but the DBS has been processed, you will be sent an invoice for the payment of £49.50.
