Sales and Distribution Supply Chain Expert (12 months secondment/FTC)
Position Summary
You will lead sales and distribution activities for a 12-month secondment. You will work closely with supply chain, customer service and planning colleagues to ensure reliable, compliant and timely product delivery to customers. This role provides direct exposure to cross‑functional stakeholders, visible impact on distribution performance, and strong opportunities for growth of commercial and supply chain skills.
Responsibilities
* Manage 0‑2 weeks Order Book & look ahead 2‑4 weeks: coordinate daily delivery creation in MERP, perform compliance checks for customer required dates, communicate with customers for short‑shelf‑life batches, and provide logistics leadership with performance trends.
* Sanction Market Management: handle licence applications and update sales orders to lift embargoes for Sanction markets, act as key contact for sanctions & export screening requests, and provide required data.
* Product Returns Management: coordinate and execute order returns to site after Post Goods Issue arising from quality or distribution issues.
* Registration Samples & Adhoc Supply Requests: manage coordination of adhoc supplies, registration samples, and non‑standard shipments, including proforma invoice creation.
* S&D Master Data Management: maintain Customer Material Information Records, Material Listings, Batch Search Strategy, Trade route creations via SID, and customer address details using MERP EDM Tool.
* Dispatch Management Backup: ensure optimal dispatch of products manufactured at Worthing, organize returns from local service providers, and support investigations.
Basic Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Sales, Logistics or a related field, or equivalent practical experience / GCSEs.
* Experience in sales, distribution or commercial operations.
* Experience with ERP systems such as SAP and with CRM or sales reporting tools.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and ability to build collaborative working relationships.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience in pharmaceuticals, healthcare or other regulated industries.
* Experience with demand planning, order management or route‑to‑market strategy.
* Proven track record of improving customer service metrics and delivery performance.
* Ability to analyse commercial data and translate findings into clear actions.
* Experience working in cross‑functional teams on change or continuous improvement projects.
