DESIRABLE
* Tribal K2 System Experience.
* Some experience of insurance replacement valuations.
* Some experience of working within a large public or private sector organisation.
* Able to use software and resources typical to job requirements (MS Excel, MS Project, property management and procurement software).
* Ability to read and understand technical information including construction drawings and architectural specifications.
* Some knowledge of public sector management practices, including financial regulations, standing orders and procurement processes.
* Working towards APC to achieve Associate RICS Chartered status) or willingness to commit.
CRITICAL
* BSc in Quantity Surveying/similar construction related degree or working towards.
* Able to produce and present financial information in a clear, concise manner.
* Good written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to negotiate and liaise effectively with clients, customers and contractors.
* Able to manage conflicting priorities and meet project deadlines.
* Knowledge and application of relevant statutory regulations, guidance and policy relating to construction projects, in particular legal and technical matters.
ESSENTIAL
* Experience of quantity surveying practice and procedure within building projects, including:
*
o Setting out project costs
o Cost/budget management experience
o Competitive tendering procedures
o Programme management
* Experience of commissioning and managing consultants.
* Able to maintain good working relationships with internal and external colleagues, exercising tenacity and tact as appropriate.
* Able to work independently with minimum supervision.
* Able to demonstrate a clear understanding of what constitutes unfair discrimination and its effects on the community and employees including disadvantaged groups in both.
