Due to the previous post holder retiring, an opportunity has become available to work within the Care4CE Occupational Opportunities Team as a Senior Support Worker. The role is permanent, 37 hours a week, typically Monday to Friday 9am‑5pm (some early evenings may be required). The office is Macclesfield Town Hall, but groups are in Crewe, Sandbach, Macclesfield and Knutsford.
About you
A driver with a vehicle to transport equipment. Interest in gardening and the ability to work outside in all weather conditions. Experience working in a Social Care or Health Care setting supporting groups of adults doing activities. Experience supporting service users and carers, and developing good working relationships with community groups.
About the role
The Senior Support Worker will lead and support gardening groups and countryside volunteer opportunities for adults with mental health and learning difficulties. Responsibilities include planning and facilitating gardening activities, supporting participants, liaising with community groups, and helping to promote the therapeutic benefits of gardening and being outside for wellbeing.
