The role
Maintenance Person Nursing Home

Salary: £15£16 per hour (£31,200£33,280 per annum)

Hours: 40 hours per week

Our client, a well-established and welcoming nursing home, is seeking a dependable and skilled Maintenance Person to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a practical individual who takes pride in maintaining a safe, comfortable, and well-presented environment for elderly residents, visitors, and staff.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of the nursing home, ensuring the building, grounds, and equipment are kept in excellent working order. The role requires a proactive approach, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently while maintaining high standards of health and safety.


Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out general maintenance, repairs, and upkeep throughout the nursing home.

  • Undertake basic plumbing, joinery, decorating, and general handyman duties.

  • Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance checks.

  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and resolve issues efficiently.

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety requirements at all times.

  • Maintain the safety, comfort, and appearance of the home for residents, visitors, and staff.

  • Liaise professionally with colleagues, contractors, and residents when required.


Essential Skills & Experience
  • Previous experience in a maintenance, facilities, handyman, or building services role.

  • Competence in basic plumbing, joinery, decorating, and general repairs.

  • Good understanding of health and safety regulations.

  • Ability to manage workloads effectively and work independently.

  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.

  • Good communication skills with a friendly and respectful manner, particularly when interacting with elderly residents.


Desirable
