Job summary
Successful applicants will be invited to attend an Assessment Centre at Carew House, Bodmin on 23rd May 2025. The session will be scheduled for either morning or afternoon, to be confirmed.
We are seeking a Band 3 Healthcare Assistant to join our nursing team on Heligan Ward at St Austell Community Hospital.
The role involves a commitment to the ongoing development of the ward and multidisciplinary team working, with the goal of delivering the highest standards of patient care.
The ideal candidate will have a cheerful 'can do' attitude. In return, we will support your career development.
The working hours include a mix of Long Days (07:30 - 20:00) and Night Shifts (19:30 - 08:00) to support 24-hour nursing care, 7 days a week.
Main duties of the job
1. Assist in the delivery of clinical care, as planned and assessed by Registered Nurses.
2. Perform care and other duties under indirect supervision of a Registered Nurse and/or Senior Healthcare Assistant.
3. Support daily care for all patients in a manner sensitive to their individual needs and wishes, respecting their rights and beliefs.
4. Contribute to resource management within the clinical area.

Person Specification
Education, Qualifications, and Relevant Experience
* GCSE Maths & English or equivalent
* NVQ 2 in Health Care or equivalent
* Clinical skills such as venepuncture, blood transfusion, aseptic technique
* Previous experience in a care setting
* Previous hospital experience
